He's getting to be so funny! Last night we were eating pancakes for dinner, I guess he really loves pancakes. While Matthew was in the bathroom washing his hands for dinner he kept yelling, "It's yummy time!". He also helped me make the pancakes, he asked if he could "spin". I guess that's how he asks to stir. We have been having a huge problem with squirrels in our attic this winter. They drive us so crazy scratching and clawing that Matthew will sometimes bang on the ceiling with a wiffle ball bat to scare them off. He did this the other night and Elijah looked at me and said, "Is daddy crazy?"
He's also becoming so smart! (We'll I've always thought that he was smart, but he's really impressing me lately.) He knows all his ABCs by sight and can tell you the sounds that they make. He was wearing a shirt the other night that said "surf" and Matthew asked him what letters were on his shirt. He looked down and said, "S-U-R-F," consciously reading from right to left since the letters were upside down to him. I'll have him reading in no time! He has a new love of puzzles (and chess), he's been doing these little 25 piece puzzles lately. He can do them in about four minutes flat, it's pretty impressive. Also, lately he's finally learned to take himself to the potty! He's been potty trained for several months now, but he still needed my help to get his pants down and then back up. Lately he's been doing it all by himself.
He's still not growing much. He had a check-up last week and he was 25 lbs and 34 inches, so he's still a bit shrimpy. The only thing that seems to have grown on him is his feet! When we went shopping for shoes the other day he had gone from a size 5 to a size 7! It's still amazing to me that he's this small, he eats all day long.
