Earlier last week we had some big plans for the weekend. On Friday night we were going to watch a Halloween movie and have popcorn. Saturday we were going to make our annual trip to Bishop's Orchard to get a pumpkin.
Well, Monday night Sophia got sick, like bad stomach bug sick. And as every mom knows, those things are usually wicked contagious. But several days passed and no one else got sick. Sophia was better by Wednesday night, for the most part, and I (stupidly) thought we had dodged a bullet. Then came Thursday and it the same stomach bug hit me and Elijah like a freight train. We were both sick all night and well into Friday. By Saturday morning we were all feeling okay. Miraculously, Matthew never got it. But still, we decided to postpone our trip to the pumpkin patch for later this week.
We still managed to salvage our weekend, though...
Matthew and Elijah playing on Saturday morning. Sophia and I were coloring in her new Cinderella coloring book.
Making brownies Saturday night.
The weather was fantastic on Sunday, so we took a walk down to our favorite beach spot.
And we all cheered for Elijah at his very last baseball game of the year.
Run!
They don't usually let the kids play catcher in coach pitch, but since it was the last game they let the kids give it a try. Look who caught for the third inning?
