Lake Compounce

For the kids' birthdays this year my parents sent us all for a day of fun at our local theme park, Lake Compounce. Elijah has been begging to ride a roller coaster for some time now so he was super excited! Not surprisingly, he was completely fearless and would have rode every single ride, had he been tall enough! Sophia was a little more limited as to what she could ride, as the height minimum was often 36", and she is only 33". But she was still happy to ride the horsey on the carousel around and around and around! (She rode it four times!)

We started off on the "classic" rides. Elijah was more than happy to let Sissy ride on the back of his motorcycle!

Yeah, we have a lot of pics like this, Elijah smiling at the camera...and the back of Sophia's head!

Granted, there were one or two rides Sophia was too thrilled about. She rode the little rocking pirate ship with Elijah and cried the whole time!

Did I mention she LOVED the carousel?

Elijah being silly. I'm sure this ride was a little slow for him, he is our daredevil!

Someone got a little sleepy on the Ferris wheel around mid-afternoon.

Someone else was having way too much fun and not tired at all!

At this point in the day the kids had rode most of the "kiddie rides" and Elijah was ready for something else. He doesn't quite meet the height requirement for some of the big rides, but he was tall enough to ride the log ride, and he wasn't scared at all! Sophia and I stayed behind and had some snacks while we waited for the boys to come down.

The girls! Haha, not the most flattering pic of either one of us!

There they are! You have no idea how long I waited to take this picture, like forty-five minutes!

Wet, but happy!

After this I took Elijah on a haunted house ride where we shot ghosts with laser guns! Elijah had one arm over his face the whole time but still loved it! We took Sissy on several more carousel rides and then went off the ride the train. Before we could board it started to pour down rain! It was already nearly four in the afternoon and we had a very sleepy toddler so we raced back to the car. We stopped on the way home for hamburgers and ice cream, so all in all it was a great day.

Thanks Mom and Dad!
