Elijah and his trains

Elijah has been completely obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine for a while now. He got his first little train set last Christmas, and a Thomas DVD that we have watched at least once a day, every day. Not to mention the half a dozen Thomas books that we have read hundreds of times. I think it was this past Valentines day that my mom sent him the little die-cast Edward and James. GG (my grandma) sent him another train car for his birthday and Nana and Papa (Matthew's parent's) bought him several more engines on our last visit. So he has quite a collection now.

About a week ago he was sitting on the floor in his room playing trains with Matthew when he looked at him and said, "Daddy, we need track." We've been meaning to go get him a set with track ever since then. Last night we went to Target and bought him some, he was so excited. He played with it for about an hour before we decided it was getting too late and he needed to go to bed. He's never thrown a tantrum in his whole life until then, he wanted to play trains so bad.

When he woke up this morning he picked up right where he left off. He usually eats breakfast as soon as he gets up, now there is a bowl of yogurt, still untouched, sitting on the table. He'd rather play trains.

I got some good pictures this morning, last night I couldn't get him to look up at the camera long enough!

This post was just adorable. We enjoyed seeing Elijah playing with his new train track. Lots of love, GG and Papa
