We've all been waiting for this day since about last summer. See, we didn't sign Elijah up for t-ball last year for a few different reasons. For one, he the cut-off age was five by 4/30, we didn't find out until later that they will pretty much bend that rule if you ask. Also, Sophia was still pretty little and to me it just seemed like a lot to take on last summer. Anyway, this year we were eagerly anticipating signing him up for t-ball. When Matthew talked to the guy in charge of little league here he said Elijah could go into coach pitch no problem. Again, it's the same cut-off date, six by April 30. Elijah will be six eleven days after that! So we decided to go ahead and let him go in to coach pitch. He practices with Matthew all the time, so we hoped that it wouldn't be a problem for him.
His first practice was this past Saturday, and that's all he could talk about the entire day! He was so excited to put on his Atlanta Braves shirt and hat and his cleats to get ready to go. In fact, we were there long before anyone else had arrived!

Sophia was very excited to cheer for her big brother the whole time. She was standing in the bleachers shouting, "Ji -JAH!"

Getting some batting advice from the coach's assistant. He was the first kid up to bat, only because he hustled!
|
He got a hit on his second try!

Ready to play!
