Yesterday was the Season Opener for Little League in our region. We went to a short little ceremony in the morning time, which was the first time all the enrolled players donned their new uni's. (If you haven't heard, last year the Major Leagues sued Little League over the matter of jerseys, so the kids cannot have team names printed in script, but only block letters now...whatever.) The mayor gave a speech and threw out the "first pitch." All of the fields have been made to look very nice, and there was some flag bunting on at least one of the fields.

Anyhow, Elijah's game was pretty early: 10:30. So we went back home for a late plate of eggs and sausage. Back at the park, we were all excited for the game. By the way, we are suffering a very cold spring fling and the fields are across the road that runs parallel to the shore of Long Island Sound, so it was also windy at the park, adding to our cold discomfort.

If you're keeping score at home, Elijah got up to bat a second time and hit a hard liner over the pitcher's mound.
