Elijah's Fourth Birthday!

Okay, a little late on the birthday post this year, I'm usually posting pictures the day after! But I think you all understand that things are a little more hectic this year than in the past!

For Elijah's birthday this year we had a Toy Story theme, although it was mostly Buzz Lightyear, since he's very much into space, planets and stars right now. Matthew, as he has done for all Elijah's birthday parties, was on cake duty. My mom tackled the decorations, while I made some home made pizza. (Elijah's favorite toppings are pepperoni and black olives!).

Earlier in the day I had my 39 week appointment and afterwards my mom and I took Elijah out for a birthday lunch. Of course, we took him to McDonalds for a Happy Meal. I think it was the happiest meal he's ever had, since we told the cashier it was his birthday she gave him three toys and a free ice cream cone! After that we did a little shopping to finish up getting ready for baby Sophia (should she choose to come out any time soon!) And then to pick up Daddy from work.

Throughout the evening Elijah received phone calls from all the family memebers who weren't able to be here. He especially enjoyed getting to talk to his cousin William!

Oh yeah, some pictures might be good, huh?

He got to open his present from Gigi and Great Papa when he got up. He got a t-shirt and a bunch of McDonalds money! (With which he bought his own Happy Meal!)

The awesome moon cake that Matthew made! Complete with starry night sky, alien and Buzz Lightyear.
Decorations!

Opening presents!

Buzz Lightyear water gun!

One of his favorite presents, a toy space shuttle that we got at the Air Museum in Hartford.

More space stuff, a book and some stickers.

Gotta have sand toys for the beach this summer!

A cool present from Mimi, play money and a wallet. (I think there were a few real dollars in there!)After presents we moved on to the next part of the party. Elijah really likes the TV game show called "Minute to Win It". It's basically a bunch of silly games anyone can play with household items. The only challenge is that you only have minute to complete the task. I only have a few pictures of the games we played, but there's lots of embarrassing video tape of all the adults doing silly things!

Elijah playing the cup stack game. You have to make a pyramid out of plastic cups and re stack them in 60 seconds. He did really good at this one!

Toilet paper mummy! Everyone got really dizzy playing this game.

Mimi Mummy!

This one is called "Paper Dragon".

Cake time!

Licking off the alien.

The black icing was a little messy!

And last but not least, a picture of Sophia's beautiful bedding (that my mom made!).

Elijah's room is now the kids room!
