I couldn't think of a better title for this post, but it seems pretty appropriate since we are greatly enjoying our first Spring here in Connecticut. This past weekend it was gorgeous and sunny, without being too hot. Okay, it was in the mid-seventies, but that's not hot at all to us Georgians! Saturday morning Matthew had the great idea of going out on a picnic. The Saturday before we had driven to the next town over, Orange, for a library book sale and while we were there he had spotted some playing fields next to a school. Originally the plan was to take a lunch and all of Elijah's sports equipment so that he could play, but when we got there we also saw that they had a really nice playground too. (Something you don't see a lot of around here.) So, he had to hit the playground first.
I had a hard time getting him to stop and pose for a picture!
He loves to slide. Strangely, the only thing he really doesn't like at the park are the swings!
Monkey man!
Then it was onto the sports! If you know Elijah at all you know that he's not very discriminating when it comes to athletics. If it involves a ball, he'll play! We brought t-ball stuff, his golf clubs and a soccer ball.
Practicing his goalie skills.
Pitching to Daddy.
Swing batter!
