Elijah's Doctors Appointment

Well, Elijah survived his doctors appointment. Today was his two month check up, and it was time for his first shots. We were a little worried about how he would react to the shots so we gave him a little tylenol before we left the house. When we got there the nurse weighed and measured him. He now weighs 13 lbs 5 oz and is 24 inches long ! He's a big boy! He is now in the 90th percentile for his height and weight. ( He was weighed and measured a week and a half ago at the heath department and they said he was only 22 inches long which put him in the 30th percentile. I knew that had to be wrong because he seemed much taller than that, and I was right. ) The doctor then came in to check him all over. It was our first time meeting him and we thought he was very nice. Matthew thought it was funny that his name is Dr. Jim Morrison. (But he goes by Patrick) Elijah seemed a little confused about all the poking and prodding he was doing, but laid quietly until the doctor had to check his ears, he did not like that at all. He also didn't like having the tongue depressor thing in his mouth. After all that the doctor declared him a big healthy boy! But then it was time for the shots! He got three, two in one leg and one in the other. After the nurse gave him the first one he looked confused for a moment, then surprised and then he screamed! He did the same for the next two, but as soon it was over and we picked him up he was fine. He took a nice long nap when we got home and woke up happy and talking. So, no ill effects from the shots, he doesn't even seem cranky. Thanks to all the grandparents and great grandparents for praying for him!

Elijah patiently waiting for the doctor... he had no clue what was coming.

Cacey, I sure have enjoyed you keeping us up to date. I know it takes time, but we sure do enjoy reading about what you are all doing. Hope you and Matthew have a wonderful weekend.
