The Weekend (And a Few Pictures)

Actually for once I don't have that many pictures to share! We had a great long weekend. It was nice to have Matthew home for an extra day. The weather was nice most of the weekend and we took full advantage of it. On Saturday we went for a walk down by the beach and then stopped off by the baseball fields for Elijah to hit a few balls. On the way home we passed the ice cream truck for some ice cream. It was then clear to us that summer had arrived, as Elijah's popsicle melted all over him! We did have a theme over the weekend, BATHS! Because it was so warm out and we spent so much time outside, it seemed like every time we turned around one or both of the kids were getting a bath!

Sunday morning everyone got dressed up nice, no pictures because I was busy preparing for my first time teaching Children's Chapel. It was fun, but so crazy! After church we stuck around for a cook-out. The kids had a lot of fun playing on the playground and getting dirty again! Sophia even got a little sun on her shoulders.May 2011 367

Sunday night we watched the Braves on tv and let the kids stay up late in hopes that they might sleep past seven for once! It worked, because I think they got up at eight-something yesterday. Yesterday was rainy and Matthew took the car in for an oil change while the kids and I hung around the house. The town's parade went down the street right next to ours, but we didn't go because Sophia was napping. When Matthew got home we went to play more baseball and then back home for hot dogs and another baseball game on tv.May 2011 359

Anyway, it was a fun, long weekend. It was certainly the first weekend we've had that really felt like summer.
